2025 Composition Contest is Open

9th Annual Jazz Composition Contest for Women Composers

The 2025 contest is now open. Entries will be accepted from women only.

The deadline for submissions is July 15, 2025. Complete rules and application instructions can be found under the Composition Contest menu on this site.

The winning and honorable mention compositions will be performed by the Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra.

The winner of the contest will receive an honorarium of $500, the Honorable Mention will receive an honorarium of $300.

The winners will be announced by September 30, 2025.

The contest was created to encourage the composition and performance of the highest possible quality jazz ensemble literature playable by high school, college and professional bands alike.
